Pool & spa wiring
What pool wiring actually is.
Pool and spa electrical is some of the most safety-sensitive work around a home. Water, metal, equipment loads, and outdoor conditions need a plan for bonding, protection, routing, and the requirements that apply to the project.
We handle new pool builds, hot-tub installations, equipment changes, and corrections on existing work. The scope is planned around your exact equipment, local requirements, and the way the space will be used.
Scope of a typical pool install.
- Underground routing and trenching planned for the property and the applicable depth and location requirements
- Bonding of the pool structure, pump motor, metal components, and other required equipment
- Dedicated, protected circuits for the configured pump, heater, lighting, timer, or other equipment
- Outdoor-rated wiring methods, equipment connections, and weather-appropriate protection
- Pool lighting or low-voltage equipment planned with the right feed, transformer, and connection method
- Timer or control planning when it is part of the equipment layout
- Future-ready conduit discussion when a heater, lighting change, or other upgrade is already on the horizon
- Testing, permit and inspection coordination, and a clear project handoff when required
Power
Many permanent hot tubs use a dedicated 240V circuit. The final circuit rating follows the spa manufacturer requirements and the home’s available capacity.
Disconnect & protection
We plan the required GFCI protection and spa-rated disconnect arrangement for the installed equipment and local requirements.
Outdoor routing
Conduit, penetrations, and exterior connections are planned for the location so the finished work is clean and suited to the environment.
Existing capacity
If a spa or pool load pushes the home beyond its practical capacity, we explain when a panel or service upgrade should be considered first.
Final check
The completed work is tested and the next permit or inspection step is kept clear when it applies.
